Manaus is the 7th largest city in Brazil and is the capital of the state of Amazonas. “Manaus” means “mother of the gods”. It is located near the confluence of the Negro and Solimoes rivers. The “Meeting of the Waters” is where the black waters of the Negro River meets the brown waters of the Solimoes river. These waters flow side by side without mixing for about 9 km. These two great rivers form the great Amazon River. What a beautiful place to serve the Lord.
Jordan is currently serving a 2-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is laboring in the Brazil Manaus Mission and is currently in the city of Itacoatiara.
